5th District Convention 2020
The 5th District will hold a Virtual Convention on April 25 at 11am. The Virtual Convention will be conducted using a teleconference.
Any person who is a County approved Delegate to the District/State Conventions must register for the District Convention by going to the NCGOP website and using the RSVP button on Conventions tab, 5th District Convention, RSVP. The deadline for registering for the convention is Wednesday, April 22, at midnight.
Any person who wishes to be a candidate for election as a Delegate to the RNC Convention must register as a candidate by going to the NCGOP website and filling out the form selecting RNC Delegate Form under the Conventions tab. The Convention will elect 3 Delegates, 3 Alternates, and 2 Reserve Alternates. Anyone who registers as a Candidate for the District Election and is not elected at the Convention will remain eligible to be selected to the Statewide Slate to be presented and approved at the NCGOP State Convention.The deadline for registering for RNC Delegate is Wednesday, April 22, at midnight.
Any person who wishes to be a candidate for election as a Presidential Elector must register as a candidate by going to the NCGOP website and filling out the form selecting Presidential Elector Form under the Conventions tab. The Convention will elect 1 Elector and 1 Alternate. As a reminder, the Elector and Alternate cannot currently be an Elected Official to public office (party official ARE eligible).The deadline for registering for Presidential Elector is Wednesday, April 22, at midnight.
